Dear Friend,
Thank you for clicking on this link and registering your interest in
immigration reform or "Operation Sunset and Change". We'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you into the
concerned set of citizens that would like to help bring US
immigration reform for all people, of all races, for all sexual orientation
on par with many other countries in the world. The US has fallen
behind with overly complex immigration rules -- that are intolerant
of contemporary trends in society. The immigration laws are
antiquated,
overly-complex and impossible to understand. They lack transparency
and are in need of substantial reform.
On Friday March 16, 2009, former Bush Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, spoke at
a conference on the challenges facing the U.S. and global
economies. In her remarks, she noted that one of her deepest regrets
was not acheiving comprehensive immigration reform during her time in
office.

EXAMPLE: The State Department and Homeland Security is responsible for immigration practices of deporting tutiton paying students that have been pursuing advanced degrees in the US. In the example here: a student pursued an MS degree for 5 years, transferred to another institution and spent another 5 years after changing his major. He was here legally as a student. Suddently the student was unable to register for 1 unit of credit because a Professor was on hiatus. The student was therefore deported with a ban of 10 years and has applied 3 times at the consulate in Thialand and was denied entry to the US. His ten years of study has gone to waste because he was unable to complete his degree work. Does this sound like the way we should treat tuition paying students who contribute to our economy?
